According to historical records the first Elementary School for the Serbian-speaking pupils was established in Becej in 1703 and for the Hungarian-speaking pupils in 1765.

      A daily care center for the Hungarian Speaking children was established in 1881 and for the Serbian-speaking children in 1887.

      The first Secondary School was the Trade School which began to work in 1883. Then followed the Civil High School and the Secondary School for Agriculture established in 1913.
